NEW YORK, NY - (WKBW) Ryan Callahan scored 2:59 into overtime to give the New York Rangers a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.
Drew Stafford scored both goals for Buffalo. He opened the scoring in the first period following a great hustle play and pass from Tyler Ennis.
Carl Hagelin tied the game in the second period. Hagelin shot the puck from along the goal line and it beat Ryan Miller between the pads.
Stafford gave the Sabres another one-goal lead early in the third period, on the power play, as he scored his second goal of the game.
But the Rangers were able to knot it again later when Marian Gaborik tallied his 29th goal of the season.
The game marked the Sabres final contest before Monday's NHL trade deadline.
Miller made 25 saves while Henrik Lundqvist stopped 18 shots for New York.
The Sabres next head out on a west. They visit Anaheim on Wednesday.
