PHILADELPHIA, PA (WKBW) - The Flyers scored a pair of goals in the game's first 8:47 on Sunday and beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-2.
Simon Gagne opened the scoring for Philadelphia with a power play goal 4:31 into the contest. Max Talbot followed that up with a shorthanded goal.
Sabres rookie Brian Flynn tallied his second NHL goal in as many games later to draw Buffalo within one.
Claude Giroux beat Ryan Miller 17-seconds into the second period to again give Philly a two-goal lead.
It would stay a 3-1 score until the third period when Jochen Hecht scored a shorthanded goal for the Sabres.
Buffalo next hosts the Rangers on Tuesday.
