NEWARK, NJ - (WKBW) For the seventh time since mid-November the Sabres failed to string together back-to-back wins. Buffalo fell to the New Jersey Devils Wednesday night 3-1.
Petr Sykora scored the Devils' first two goals, one in the first period and one in the second period, to give Jersey the 2-0 lead. Zach Parise then deflected Mark Fayne's shot past Ryan Miller to give the Devils a 3-0 advantage.
Thomas Vanek scored Buffalo's lone goal, on the power play, later in the second period.
Miller made 20 saves for the Sabres. Martin Brodeur stopped 22 shots.
Sabres defenseman Andrej Sekera left the game with an upper-body injury.
The Sabres next visit the Washington Capitals on Friday.
