Drew Stafford scored two goals and added an assist.
Tyler Ennis and Travis Turnbull scored the other goals for Buffalo. It was Turnbull's first NHL goal. Ennis also had two assists.
Ryan Miller made 26 saves for the win.
The Sabres next host Minnesota on Saturday night.
