ALLENWOOD, PA (WKBW-TV) - The former CEO of Adelphia Communications and former Buffalo Sabres owner John Rigas is back in Pennsylvania to serve his federal prison sentence.

The Patriot-News is reporting, Rigas, 86, and his son Timothy are now serving their time in Allenwood Federal Prison in Union County Pennsylvania.

The Rigases were convicted in 2004 of securities and bank fraud after a $3.2 billion accounting fraud scandal, which sent the cable company into bankruptcy.

John Rigas is serving a 12-year sentence while his son Timothy is serving 17-years. The move back to Pennsylvania puts them closer to their families
