The Buffalo Bisons are living on the edge these days just trying to hang on in the wild card race in the midst of a showdown with Thruway Series rival Rochester.

The Herd had to overcome a three-run deficit entering the eighth inning. Outfielder Ben Francisco hit a line drive to left-center field that scored Brian Barton and Keith Ginter to draw to within one.

In the bottom of the ninth Jason Cooper cleared the bases with a two-out triple that plated a pair to give Buffalo the 5-4 victory.

Mike Koplove improved to 4-2 on the season as he picked up the victory after working one inning of relief.

The Bisons trail Rochester by 2.5 games for the wild card spot heading into Friday's series finale at Dunn Tire Park.
