The Buffalo Bisons got their 123rd season of professional baseball off to a good start Thursday night with a 9-4 Opening Day win in Norfolk. Josh Barfield led the way with four hits and two RBI's in his Bisons debut. Ryan Mulhern added a three-run double in the fifth inning as the Herd pounded out 12 hits.
Aaron Laffey got the win, giving up one unearned run in five innings of work, with five strikeouts. Dating back to last season, Laffey has won ten consecutive decisions with the Bisons. The same two teams get back at it Friday night in Norfolk.
