Orchard Park (WKBW.com) Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson said earlier in the week that his days of touchdown celebrations were over. If that's the case his final show cost him $10,000.
An NFL source confirmed with Eyewitness Sports on Wednesday that Johnson was fined $10,000 by the league for his touchdown celebration Sunday against the New York Jets. Johnson mocked Jets WR Plaxico Burress by reenacting an incident where Burress shot himself in the leg three years ago, and then after acting like a plane crashed into the ground at MetLife Stadium.
Johnson was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct on the play.
Johnson would not confirm the fine on Wednesday morning during the teams media availability before practice, but wanted to put the incident behind him. "If I do get fined then we still have move on and it's the Tennessee Titans. I'm not really worried about a fine right now. It's part of the game, people get fined but we still have a football game Sunday so that's what I'm getting ready for".
