BUFFALO, NY (Buffalo Bandits) – The National Lacrosse League today announced Buffalo Bandits goaltender Mike Thompson and rookie forward Kyle Clancy were both recognized with Player of the Week honors for the final week of the regular season (Week 16).

Mike Thompson was named Defensive Player of the Week. The Bandits faced a must-win contest against the Boston Blazers in order to make the playoffs, and Thompson was crucial in the team’s playoff-clinching 13-10 victory. Thompson faced 56 shots on goal and ended the game with 46 saves.

Forward Kyle Clancy was named Rookie of the Week. Clancy scored one goal and one assist in Buffalo’s must-win contest against Boston. He also added two loose balls.
