Bandits Improve to .500 with Win in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY (NLL.com) - The Buffalo Bandits (6-6) extended their winning streak to four games on Saturday night at the Blue Cross Arena by defeating the Rochester Knighthawks (5-6) 14-7.

The Bandits got out to an early lead, as the score was 5-2 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Bandits added five more goals to make the score 10-4 at the half. Going into the intermission, Mike Accursi led the Bandits with three goals and Shawn Williams and John Grant had two goals each for the Knighthawks.

Both teams scored three goals a piece in the third quarter as Buffalo held onto a 13-7 lead going into the fourth. The Bandits added one more goal in the fourth, which sealed the game and made the final score 14-7.

Mark Steenhuis (3g, 5a) and Accursi (4g, 1a) were the leading scorers for Buffalo. Williams did his best to keep Rochester in the game finishing with three goals and two assists.

Both teams have home contests next Saturday night. The Bandits will take on the Colorado Mammoth at 7:30 p.m. EST while the Knighthawks will host the Calgary Roughnecks at 7:35 p.m. EST.
