Raul Reyes Promoted to Bisons

(WKBW release) The Buffalo Bisons on Friday announced that outfielder Raul Reyes has been promoted to the team from Double-A Binghamton.

Reyes will take the roster spot of OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis.The Mets announced earlier Friday that Nieuwenhuis will be promoted to the major league club tomorrow.

Reyes, 25, played 18 games with the Bisons last season and hit .200 with two home runs and eight RBI. The outfielder spent the rest of 2011 with Double-A Binghamton where he averaged .292 with 20 doubles, 12 home runs, 50 RBI and six stolen bases in 106 games for Wally Backman’s B-Mets.

Reyes was initially signed by the Mets as a non-drafted free agent in 2004.
