Mets Select Contract of Bisons’ Feliciano

Buffalo (Bisons) The New York Mets today announced that they have selected the contract of Bisons OF JESUS FELICIANO. Feliciano will be making his major league debut with New York.



Feliciano, 31, has been the best hitter in the International League over the first two months of the season. His .385 (72-187) batting average through 53 games is 57 points higher than any other batter in the league. He also leads the IL in hits (72), is second in on-base percentage (.426) and fourth in runs scored (38). Feliciano also had 13 doubles, a triple, a home run and 17RBI for Buffalo this season.



Feliciano was named IL Batter of the Week from May 17-23 and had a 12-game hit streak, May 12-23 during which he averaged .458 (22-48). In the past week, Feliciano has had a pair of five-hit performances, May 30 against Toledo and June 5 in Norfolk.



Last season, Feliciano was named the Bisons Stan Barron Most Valuable Player after hitting .311 (154-495) with one home run and 42RBI in 130 games. He led all IL hitters with his 154 hits.
