(Bisons.com) Sometimes home field advantage makes all the difference.
The Pawtucket Red Sox got some help from their faithful fans Thursday night to complete a two-game sweep of the Herd with a 7-1 victory from the friendly confines of McCoy Stadium.

A souvenir for one PawSox fan could've been a game-change out for the Bisons defense as they tried to claw their way back into the game. Instead, a foul ball that wasn't caught opened the door for a big rally for the hometown team.

The Bisons were desperately trying to get out of the bottom of the seventh inning when they thought they had the third out they needed. The Herd trailed 2-1 but Pawtucket loaded the bases with two outs on a single and two walks.

That's when Aaron Bates fouled a 2-2 pitch from Jim Ed Warden down the right field line. Buffalo's Jesus Feliciano reached into the crowd, confident he would make the grab. But a PawSox fan beat him to ball, reaching above Feliciano's mitt to steal the potential out. Because the play was in the stands and the fan did not reach over the wall and into play, no fan interference could be called.

Three pitches later, Bates drew the walk to force in a third run. Travis Denker then blew the game open with a bases-clearing triple before scoring himself on a wild pitch.

In an instant, a 2-1 deficit became a 7-1 defeat.

The Bisons bullpen allowed five runs over the final three innings of play.

Prior to that, Kyle Snyder and Pawtucket's Adam Mills locked up in a pitcher's duel. The PawSox got on the board in the second inning before Javier Castillo tied it in the third with a solo home run. Brian Anderson doubled home a run in the bottom of the third to give Pawtucket the 2-1 lead.

Snyder allowed just two runs in five innings, but did not receive a decision.
