Bisons Drop Slugfest in Toledo

By WKBW Sports

TOLEDO, OHIO (Bisons.com) - Saturday night at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, OH, two teams were determined to win. Unfortunately for Buffalo, only one could.
The Mud Hens walked off with an 11-10 victory over the Bisons in a slugfest that featured 32 hits and three amazing comebacks. Toledo infielder Scott Sizemore provided the dramatics with a game-winning home run off Jon Switzer with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Herd fought hard all game. The Bisons held leads of 5-0 and 8-5 only to find themselves trailing 10-8 in the ninth inning. Buffalo was down to their final strike, but two-out singles by Andy Green and Wilson Valdez put runners on base for Argenis Reyes' triple to deep centerfield.

However, Toledo came right back to win the game in the bottom of the ninth on Sizemore's blast -his second of the game and the Mud Hens' fifth home run.

The Bisons had 15 hits, three each from Jesus Feliciano, Mike Lamb and Reyes. Lamb doubled twice, first to get on base in the second inning for Rene Rivera's RBI-double and again in the third to score two and give Buffalo a 3-0 edge. The Bisons scored two more in the fourth to lead 5-0.

Toledo roared back, homering three times in the bottom of the fourth off starter Kyle Snyder to tie the game. The Bisons scored three more times in the sixth on RBI-singles from Lamb and Nick Evans.

The Mud Hens put together a second five-run rally in the eighth inning to take the 10-8 lead. After Sizemore hit a two-run homer, Brent Dlugach crushed a three-run triple to give Toledo their first lead of the game.

Switzer took the loss for Buffalo. He fell to 0-3 on the season.

BISONS NOTES:Red-hot Mike Lamb went 3-4 for the second consecutive night. He has eight hits in his last 12 at-bats...Jesus Feliciano has now hit in a personal season-high nine games. His three-hit game on Saturday raised his team-high average to .315...The Bisons pitching staff had allowed just 18 earned runs in it's last 10 games before allowing 11 earned on Saturday.
