Bisons Slump Continues

Bisons Slump Continues

By Jay Bonafede

Syracuse touched up Buffalo pitching for 13 hits Thursday afternoon as the Chiefs beat the Bisons for the third straight time, 9-7.

Brian Slocum struggled for the Herd, giving up four runs on five hits in just three innings of work on the way to his first loss of the season. The Bisons closed to with 4-3 before giving up three runs in the top of the sixth, and two more in the eighth.

Buffalo did mount a bit of a comeback when Jason Cooper hit a three-run homer, his first, as part of a four-run eighth, but it was too little, too late as the Bisons fell to just 5-10 on the season.

The Herd will try to salvage one win out of the four-game series when they'll host the Chiefs for a Friday Night Bash, with first pitch scheduled for 6:05pm.
