Most the starters won't see action in the final preseason tune-up against Detroit on Thursday, but Manny Lawson will get some extended time.

With all the injuries to the linebacking corps, himself included, Lawson finally hit the field and saw some action in the loss to Washington.

The LB said he still needs to get his bearings and dust off the rust.

“Work on my get off, work on reading my keys and getting back into the feel of things,” he told reporters on Sunday.  “I think where my role is right now is definitely suited for me and really it's just about going out there and playing ball.”

Lawson is also still facing the possibility of a one game suspension for a domestic incident in 2014.

He says he's reached out to the league, but hasn't heard back regarding their investigation.

"All I know is that I'm being investigated for an incident that happened two years ago from which there was no physical violence. Disorderly conduct,” he said.  “Whatever the league has to say about that, we'll wait and see what their decision is."
