Reggie Ragland's rookie season ended before it even began a season ago.

Called a "day one starter,"  the second round pick of out of Alabama suffered a torn ACL just a few days into his first training camp and ultimately missed all of the 2016 season.

Fast forward a year, and Ragland is ready to get back on the field and contribute to a defense that is in bad need of a bounce back effort -- and he'll be chasing defenders hopefully a little faster thanks to a leaner body.

The linebacker revealed to SiriusXM NFL Radio host and Sporting News writer Alex Marvez Thursday night he has a weight clause in his contract.

According to the linebacker, he currently weights 250 pounds, but can't weigh more than 255 pounds.  For every pound he is overweight, he'll get fined $600.

Ragland is expected to compete with Preston Brown for the starting position position at middle linebacker.
