Bills Nab Big Target

Bills Nab Big Target

By WKBW Sports

With their second round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft (#41 overall), the Buffalo Bills got Trent Edwards a big target, taking Indiana WR James Hardy.

The 6-6, 220-pounder, Hardy spent one season with the Hoosiers basketball team before switching to football. He finishes his college career with 191 catches for 2,740 yards and 36 touchdowns, rewriting the Indiana record books. The 36 TD catches trail only Braylon Edwards and Anthony Carter in Big Ten Conference history.

Hardy left school after a junior season in which he set Indiana single-season records with 79 catches for 1,125 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Barring trades, the Bills are done on day one of the NFL draft, having taken Troy CB Leodis McKelvin in the first round. Their next pick comes Sunday morning with the ninth pick in round three.
