"Tuel Time" for Patriots? Gilmore out 6-8 weeks

Orchard Park (WKBW) This was not the plan but it may be the reality for the Buffalo Bills. With Kevin Kolb out indefinitely with a concussion, and EJ Manuel still on the mend from a procedure to his knee, Head Coach Doug Marrone announced on Monday that as it stands Jeff Tuel will be the quarterback for the regular season opener against New England. "Right now we are planning on Jeff Tuel playing the first game, said Marrone. "We're working with EJ to get back as quick as possible", Marrone continued.

The head coach has not ruled Manuel out for the opener but the first round pick has yet to return to practice after his procedure a week ago.
Marrone says the rookie did some work on the field with trainers on Sunday. "He's actually starting to move around a bit which is a good sign" said Marrone. Newly signed additions Matt Leinart and Thad Lewis practiced with the Bills for the first time on Monday.

Also on Monday Marrone confirmed that starting cornerback Stephon Gilmore will miss the next 6-to-8 weeks after suffering a fractured wrist against the Washington Redskins. Gilmore was believed to be injured in the second quarter when came up and hit Aldrick Robinson on a slant pattern. Gilmore started all 16 games as a rookie in 2012 and was hoping to establish himself as one of the top corners in the league this season. Marrone says that Justin Rogers, Crezdon Butler and T.J. Heath will all compete to fill Gilmore's spot.
