Reports: Bills Lose Pozlusny, Grab Thigpen

July 27, 2011 Updated Jul 27, 2011 at 7:19 AM EDT

(WKBW.com) As expected NFL free agency news was moving fast and furious on Tuesday night. Nothing can become official until Friday but reports on Tuesday have the Bills losing LB Paul Posluszny and adding QB Tyler Thigpen.

Jason La Canfora of NFL.com is reporting that Posluszny has agreed to a six-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Posluszny was the Bills second round draft pick in 2007. He started in 45 games in Buffalo.
Bills GM Buddy Nix said on Tuesday morning that he hoped to keep the linebacker, but La Canfora reports that Posluszny is excited to be joining a team that plays a true 4-3 defense. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.

Meanwhile the Bills have reportedly found a backup for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Multiple reports out of Florida have the Bills agreeing to terms with QB Tyler Thigpen. The Sun-Sentinel is reporting it's a 3-year deal for the signal caller who re-joins Chan Gailey in Buffalo. Thigpen worked under Gailey in Kansas City in 2008. Thigpen, 27, appeared in five games for the Miami Dolphins in 2010, starting in one.

Teams can not officially sign free agents until Friday at 6pm. The negotating period started on Tuesday at 10am.
