Kelsay: "Not everybody was playing hard every snap"

Buffalo (WKBW) As one of the veterans on the Bills roster Chris Kelsay has often led his teammates with his work ethic and approach to the game. Monday Kelsay tried the verbal approach.

On the heels of the Bills disappointing 35-34 loss to Tennessee, Kelsay took time to call out his teammates on Monday for a lack of effort at times against the Titans. "Some way, somehow we have to understand what accountability means across the board, playing hard every play.", said Kelsay. "You watch the film and not everybody was playing hard every snap. That is unacceptable."

Kelsay refused to single any of his teammates out and even pointed at himself, but says seeing a lack of urgency and effort is inexcusable.

"There is no excuse for it. We put in way too much time and effort during the week.", said Kelsay. "I thought we practiced really well throughout the week, but if you do not play on Sunday and you cannot translate it to the game field then it is all for naught. Coaches put in a ton of time and a lot of effort. We are all away from our families, we make this what it is and it is our livelihood. It is a blessing to be in this league. To go out there and lay an egg, there is no excuse for it."

The Bills limp into the bye week at 3-and-4 on the season. The team has one practice scheduled for Wednesday before players get a break for the weekend.
