BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) - Could members of the Jacobs family be interested in keeping the Bills in Buffalo?
In a statement released by Delaware North Companies Thursday morning Jeremy Jacobs Jr., a principal at the company, said "We are using our resources, our contacts, our relationships to do everything we can to ensure the Bills stay in Buffalo."
Recent reports have pointed to the Jacobs family as a prime candidate to purchase the team. Delaware North Companies released a statement on behalf of Delaware North Chairman Jeremy Jacobs Sr. a couple weeks ago.
"Several reports have listed Jeremy Jacobs as potentially interested in buying the Buffalo Bills. Mr Jacobs owns the Boston Bruins and has no intention of selling the Bruins in order to purchase the Buffalo Bills. His focus is on ensuring the Boston Bruins continue to be a successful and winning franchise for the City of Boston and New England. He is a strong supporter of the Buffalo Bills as a storied franchise that has seen great success under Ralph Wilson. Mr. Jacobs would certainly be a strong supporter of any effort to keep the Bills in Western New York and is a big fan of the franchise and its leadership."
Donald Trump, Jim Kelly and Jon Bon Jovi have also been rumored as potential ownership candidates of the franchise.
