ORCHARD PARK, NY – (Bills) The Buffalo Bills today announced that the team has signed G Colin Brown and T Erik Pears to the 53-man roster. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Brown joins Buffalo from Baltimore’s practice squad. The 6-7, 335-pound Missouri product entered the NFL as a fifth-round (139th overall) draft choice of Kansas City in 2009 and spent his rookie year on Injured Reserve. He joined the Ravens’ practice squad after being released by the Chiefs prior to the 2010 regular season. Brown will wear No. 74.
Pears, a six-year NFL veteran, joins Buffalo after being released by Jacksonville on November 9th. The 6-8, 305-pound Colorado State product entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Denver in 2005. He has started 30 of 44 games played with stints with the Broncos (2005-08) and Oakland (2009). Pears will wear No. 79.
The Bills also announced that the team has placed WR Lee Evans (ankle) on Injured Reserve and TE Shawn Nelson on Reserve, Non-Football Injury/Illness.
Buffalo also signed WR Bobby Williams to the team’s practice squad. Williams joins Buffalo’s practice squad after being released from Houston’s practice squad on October 5th. The 6-4, 215-pound North Alabama product entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Vikings in 2009 and was released prior to the regular season. The Bills also announced the team has released OL Marc Dile from the practice squad.
