Bills hard at work on Labor Day

Orchard Park ( There was no rest for the Buffalo Bills on Labor day. The team worked through a full day in Orchard Park as the team gets ready for the regular season opener September 9th against the New York Jets.

"It's like the calm before the storm", said Bills WR Stevie Johnson.

There was a new level of intensity inside the Bills locker room on Monday morning as players put the preseason behind them and started to focus on a big divisional game to open the season. "It's very different", said Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore. "Guys are a lot more serious. It feels like a game week", continued the rookie.

"We are excited about it", said running back Fred Jackson. "We get our chance to prove what we felt all off-season, get a chance to go out and make plays".

The Bills held meetings Monday morning, and then worked through an afternoon practice. Both CB Terrence McGee and DE Mark Anderson say they expect to play against the Jets

"I feel alright", said McGee. "I am good enough to practice and play". McGee has been on the comeback trail following off-season knee surgery.

"I feel good", said Anderson. "I feel back to normal. I'm ready to get back at it". Anderson has been nursing a groin injury, and missed the final two preseason games.

Tackle Eric Pears also returned to practice on Monday. He was held out of the preseason finale against Detroit with a groin injury.

The Bills added two players to the teams practice squad on Monday.
CB T.J. Heath, and TE LaMark Brown were both signed. The Bills have 7 players now on the practice squad.
