ORCHARD PARK, NY (Bills/WKBW.com) The NFL announced today that Bills NT Kyle Williams has been added to the 2011 AFC Pro Bowl roster.

Williams totaled a career-high 5.5 sacks and a personal-best 77 tackles (54 solo), finishing second among NFL defensive linemen in 2010. In Week Eight at Kansas City, he tallied nine tackles along with 2.0 sacks, three tackles for a loss and three quarterback hits. Williams posted his second 2.0 sack performance of the season in Week 12 vs. Pittsburgh while matching a personal-best of 10 tackles.

“I think everybody on our football team is very excited about Kyle having an opportunity to play in the Pro Bowl,” said Head Coach Chan Gailey. “There’s probably not another guy more deserving because of the year he’s had, because of what he stands for, and how he plays the game. We’re all excited for him.”

Williams was named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster in place of Oakland Raiders DL Richard Seymour who has been replaced due to injury.

A 6-1, 306-pound Louisiana State product, Williams entered the NFL as the first of Buffalo’s two fifth-round (134th overall) draft picks in 2006. In his five-year career, Williams has totaled 291 tackles (193 solo) and 13.5 sacks in 78 games with 73 starts. His 291 tackles since entering the NFL in 2006 are fourth-most among defensive linemen.
