PITTSFORD, NY (Bills/WKBW) - Below are comments from the Buffalo Bills following Friday's evening practice:

PM Practice- August 6, 2010

On the warm reception from the fans:

It was a great feeling. I was anxious to get back. I was ready to get back on the football field and just start practicing again and get ready for the season. But it felt good to get a warm reception from the fans. We’re definitely going to need them come Sundays.

On his first night of practice:

It felt great. I still have to get my timing down. You know, first day in (practice), you don’t really know what to expect. First day went pretty smooth. I still have some stuff I want to get better at and hopefully I can go correct the mistakes that I made tonight.

On what fans should expect on Sundays:

What anybody should expect. I’m going to go out there and give my best every Sunday. I’m going to run the play and try to execute. But the main thing is that they should know I’m going go out there and lay everything on the line for my teammate to try to help us win.

On the variety of activities in practice:

It felt good to start catching some punts again. I haven’t caught [any] in awhile. It felt really good to get back out there and do that. We’re just taking it one day at a time. Can’t really slow down. I have to speed up and I have to in steady. The good thing is, I remembered a whole lot from OTAs and mini-camp.

PM PRACTICE – August 6

On RB C.J. Spiller during practice:

We didn’t do a lot with him. We’ve got to break him in slowly. These other guys have been in camp now for quite a few days, a week almost. So he’s got a lot of catching up to do, not only mentally but physically. We’re going to work him in slow but you can see the explosiveness he’s always had.

On WR Roscoe Parrish leaving practice early:

Roscoe, it’s not bad. He’ll be back in a couple days at the worst, I think.

On what happened to Parrish:

He got hurt.

On the team making big plays during practice:

It was good to see some big plays. We’ve got to eliminate the bad plays, but it was good to see some big plays. There were some positives out there on both sides of the ball and that’s what you’re searching for, positives in each and every practice. Fundamentals, we’re doing a pretty good job with fundamentals. We’ve got to take care of the football better and that’d be the only thing. But our defense is getting turnovers, so that’s a good thing.

On the secondary getting several interceptions during the past few practices:

I don’t believe in luck. Those guys hustle. If you’re hustling then you make big plays and you get those things and they’re good for you. To me, that’s the mark of a hustling defense.
