Minneapolis (WKBW.com) The Buffalo Bills are still looking for their first victory of the preseason following a 36-14 loss at Minnesota on Friday night. Still Vince Young may feel like a winner.
Young took a big step in securing the back-up quarterback spot on Friday with a strong performance. The veteran finished 8-for-14 passing for 123 yards. He also had the highlight of the night for the Bills hitting rookie TJ Graham for a 64 yard completion.
QB Tyler Thigpen did not fair as well. Thigpen 8 of 15 passes for 56 yards. He also threw an interception that was returned by the Vikings Audie Cole for the touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Cole returned interceptions for scores on back to back plays. His second came off of Bills QB Brad Smith.
The Bills found themselves in a hole right away. The Vikings marched down the field on their opening drive and carved out big chunks of yards along the way. Minnesota then capped things off with a Christian Ponder pass to Jerome Felton who got into the end zone for a 1 yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead.
The Bills put together their first touchdown drive of the preseason early in the second quarter. Fred Jackson moved the Bills down to the Minnesota 26 with a 20 yard run down the left side line. Ryan Fitzpatrick then found Donald Jones for a 31 yard TD. Jones caught the ball coming across the middle, picked up a couple of nice blocks before finding the end zone.
