BUFFALO, NY (WKBW/UB) - The UB Bulls won in convincing fashion for the second straight week at home, clinching their Mid-American Conference opener by a final of 42-14.
“The effort was excellent today in all three phases,” head coach Jeff Quinn said. “Our coaching job did a tremendous job in preparation. To beat this team was just another important step for us to accomplish the goals that we set for ourselves this season.”
With the win, the Bulls improve to 3-2 on the year and 1-0 in the conference.
Branden Oliver rushed for a season-high 150 yards and two touchdowns against the Eagles defense, including a 60-yard touchdown run on the team's sixth play from scrimmage.
The Bulls special teams add points with a 96-yard kick-off return for a touchdown by Devin Campbell in the second quarter.
UB put up two more scores in the third, which included a 27-yard hook-up from Joe Licata to Alex Neutz.
Neutz finished with five catches for 104 yards. Licata finished 15-22 for 224 yards and a touchdown.
UB hits the road next week to take on MAC West opponent Western Michigan on Saturday.
