Stevie Johnson out. Gilmore, Byrd in against Bengals

Orchard Park (WKBW) Stevie Johnson will not play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The wide receiver is among the Bills inactives announced on Sunday. Johnson has been nursing a back injury. He also missed two days of practice to deal with a death in his family.

Two starters will return for the Bills defense on Sunday. Safety Jairus Byrd will make his season debut. The pro-bowler has missed the first five games with plantar fasciitis but is in the line-up and will start at free safety. Also making his regular season debut is Stephon Gilmore. Gilmore has missed the early part of the season with a fractured wrist. He is active and is expected to start against the Bengals.

Thad Lewis will get the start at quarterback for the injured EJ Manuel how is inactive on Sunday. CB Justin Rogers, CB Brandon Burton, 33 CB Ron Brooks and OL Antoine McClain are also inactive.

Doug Legursky gets the start at RG for the Bills. He takes the place of Colin Brown.
