Buffalo (WKBW) It was smooth sailing for the Syracuse Orange on Thursday. After losing five of seven heading into the NCAA Tournament 3rd seeded Syracuse blew past 14th seeded Western Michigan 77-53 at the First Niagara Center.
Four players scored in double figures for the Orange who never trailed.
Trevor Cooney led the way with 18 points. He hit 4-of-8 from three point range. Tyler Ennis and Jerami Grant each scored 16 points. C.J. Fair scored 14.
Syracuse advances to take 11th seeded Dayton on Saturday.
