COLUMBUS, OH (WKBW) - The Buffalo Sabres snapped the 8 game winning streak of the Columbus Blue Jackets with a 5-2 win on the road Saturday.

With the win, the Sabres snapped a 5 game skid of their own.

Buffalo opened the scoring just over two-minutes into the game with a back-hand from the blue-line off the stick of Matt Ellis for his third goal of the year.

After a Columbus goal from Derek MacKenzie, Buffalo jumped back in front while short-handed when Christian Erhoff blasted a puck past the glove of Sergi Bobrovski.

The Sabres added a second short-handed goal just over three-minutes into the second period when Marcus Foligno wristed one past Bobrovski glove side, a goal that would send the Columbus starter to the bench.

Steve Ott and Cody Hodgeson each added a goal in the third. Ryan Miller stopped 36 of 38 shots in the win.

Buffalo travels to Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins Monday night.
