Buffalo (WKBW) Matt Moulson scored the eventual game winner on the power play as the Buffalo Sabres rallied with four unanswered goals in a 4-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night. It was only the second time all season that the Sabres had scored more then three goals in regulation.
The Sabres needed to erase two goal deficit to earn the win. Mark Schiefele scored a pair of goals :36 apart early in the second period to give Winnipeg a 2-0 lead. It was a kick in the stomach to a Buffalo team that had out shot the Jets 19-7 in the first period.
Steve Ott started the comeback. His fourth goal of the year cut the Jets lead to 2-1 at 10:16 of the second period. The Sabres kept coming in the third. Marcus Foligno tied the game less then a minute into the third with his fourth goal of the season. Moulson then gave the Sabres a 3-2 lead on the power play at 2:31 of the third. Moulson deflected a pass from Christian Ehrhoff for his 12th goal of the season. Matt Ellis finished the Buffalo scoring with his first of the year at 13:38.
The Sabres host Boston on Thursday.
