February 7, 2014 Updated Feb 7, 2014 at 12:54 AM EDT

WKBW - The Buffalo Sabres rallied from a two-goal deficit but ultimately came up short on Thursday night in Ottawa. Senators winger Milan Michalek scored his second goal of the game with just :23 seconds remaining to edge past Buffalo 3-2. It was the fourth straight loss for the Sabres.

The Sabres had to fight back from a 2-0 third period deficit to make it a game. Michalek gave Ottawa a two-goal lead when he beat Buffalo starter Jhonas Enroth just :10 into the frame. The Sabres would claw back on third period goals by Tyler Ennis and Drew Stafford before Michalek scored the game winner at 19:37.

Jhonas Enroth 33 saves but dropped to 1-12-5 on the season.
The Sabres are now off for the Olympic break until February 25th when the Carolina Hurricanes visit the First Niagara Center.
