Buffalo (WKBW) It wasn't pretty. It wasn't perfect. It doesn't matter. For only the third time this season the Buffalo Sabres have now won back-to-back games after a 4-3 shootout victory over the Florida Panthers on Thursday night.

Nathan Gerbe scored a pair of goals, and Ryan Miller made 38 saves in the win. Miller also made two stops in the shootout to help secure the victory. Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville both beat Jose Theodore in the shootout. Pominville clinched the victory after a Miller save on Peter Mueller.

Tyler Ennis also scored for the Sabres who watched an early 2-0 lead slip away. Drew Shore and Marcel Goc scored for Florida late in the first period to tie the game at two. Gerbe then scored his second goal of the night, and second goal of the season, at 16:46 of the first to make it 3-2 Buffalo after 1.

Brian Campbell would then tie the game at 3 at 18:34 of the third. Campbell beat Miller from the point for his 6th goal of the year to force overtime.

The now 8-12-1 Sabres host the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.
