Sabres fall to Capitals in Overtime

Buffalo (WKBW) Mike Green scored a pair of goals including the game winner as the Washington Capitals knocked off the Buffalo Sabres 5-4 in overtime on Tuesday night. Alex Ovechkin finished with four points for the Capitals. Sabres goaltender Jhonas Enroth dropped to 1-10-5 with the loss.

The Sabres had to erase an early deficit to get back in the game. Ovechkin gave Washington a 2-0 lead with two goals in a span of :53 in the first period. Christian Ehrhoff would pull the Sabres within one later in the first. Cody Hodgson would tie the game at two on the power play at 1:41 of the second. Hodgson finished with two goals on the night. Phil Varone also scored for the Sabres. Varone netted the first goal of his NHL career at 11:11 of the second period.

Troy Brouwer also scored for the Capitals. The Sabres finish the teams stretch of three games in four nights on Thursday in Phoenix.
