Buffalo (WKBW) The Buffalo Sabres surrendered three second period goals in a 4-1 loss at the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night. The loss snapped the Sabres three-game winning streak and kept Buffalo four points out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Kyle Wellwood, Aaron Gagnon and Andrew Ladd all scored in the second period for Winnipeg. Kevin Porter had the lone Buffalo goal in the third period. Blake Wheeler added an empty net goal for the Jets who jumped into 9th place in the East with the victory.

The Sabres return home to host Montreal on Thursday with 8 games left in the season.
