Philadelphia (WKBW) One goal won't do it. Despite 42 saves by Ryan Miller the Buffalo Sabres lost 4-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night at the Wachovia Center. The setback dropped the Sabres to 1-and-3 under new interim head coach Ted Nolan.

Tyler Myers opened the scoring for Buffalo in the first period. Myers poked home the rebound of a shot by Tyler Ennis to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead. Buffalo finished the first period with the lead for the first time this season.

The Flyers bounced back in the second. Matt Read scored a pair of goals 1:40 apart to put Philadelphia up 2-1 at 15:49 of the second period. Vinny Lecavalier added a power play goal in the third. Scott Hartnell scored on the empty net for the Flyers.
