Buffalo (WKBW) A new general manager, a new direction, same lack of scoring for the Buffalo Sabres. On a day that newly named GM Tim Murray was introduced the Sabres could only muster a single goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers.

Murray was in attendance to watch Buffalo goaltender Jhonas Enroth stop 34 of 35 Florida shots but it wasn't enough. Jamie McBain scored the lone goal for the Sabres. Steve Ott picked up the first assist for McBain's third tally of the season at 5:13 of the second period. The Panthers would tie the game in third . Former Sabres forward Brad Boyes scored his 12th of the year for the Panthers at 9:16 of the frame.

Boyes also scored the only goal in the third round of the shootout. His shot went off the post then off of the back of Enroth before trickling in for the game winner.
