Buffalo (WKBW) It didn't take long for new Sabres Head Coach Ron Rolston to start putting his stamp on the organization. Tuesday Rolston cut ties with assistants James Patrick and Kevyn Adams.

Patrick confirmed the moves to Eyewitness Sports Director Jeff Russo on Thursday afternoon. "I wasn't surprised. A new coach comes in and wants his people in place", said Patrick on the phone. "I loved my time with the Sabres, loved working under Lindy Ruff.", continued Patrick.

Patrick joined the Sabres staff as a development coach in 2005. He was promoted to an assistant by Ruff the following year.

Adams also started as a development coach. The Western New York native joined the Sabres staff in 2009. He was promoted to an assistant position prior to the 2012-2013 season.

Teppo Numminen is expected to keep his job with the Sabres under Rolston. The status of goaltending coach Jim Corsi was unclear on Thursday afternoon.

A Sabres had nothing official on the moves on Thursday. A spokesperson said the team would only make an announcement after Rolston had finalized his staff. The new Sabres head coach was said to be talking to candidates on Thursday afternoon.
