BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The Buffalo Sabres lost their fourth straight game on Wednesday, falling to the Boston Bruins 5-2. The Sabres remain winless at home this season.
Sabres goalie Ryan Miller did not play because of a lower-body injury. Jhonas Enroth was called up from AHL Portland and started the game for Buffalo.
Enroth played the first period, allowing three goals on 12 shots. The first two were shorthanded tallies by Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron. Blake Wheeler added an even-strength tally before the period ended to make it 3-0.
Patrick Lalime played the rest of the game for Buffalo. A Michael Ryder snapshot got past him early in the second period.
Drew Stafford scored a power play goal for the Sabres before the second frame was complete. Andrej Sekera added his first goal of the season in the third. Milan Lucic provided an empty-netter to finish off the scoring.
The Sabres host the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.
