Sabres Lose to Lightning

TAMPA, FL - (WKBW) The Buffalo Sabres gave up a pair of goals in less than a two minute span in the third period on the way to a 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night.

Tyler Johnson opened the scoring for the Lightning with a power play goal in the first period.

Brian Flynn tied the game in the second period for the Sabres.

Thomas Vanek gave Buffalo the lead 12:46 into the final period as he fired home a pass from Marcus Foligno.

But just 1:23 later Martin St. Louis knotted the game for the Lightning.

Ondrej Palat scored the game-winner with just 4:05 to go in regulation.

Ryan Miller made 36 saves for the Sabres.

Ben Bishop stopped 20 shots for Tampa.

The Sabres next host former head coach Lindy Ruff and his Dallas Stars on Monday.
