MONTREAL, QUEBEC - (WKBW) Thomas Vanek had two goals and Ryan Miller made 38 saves leading the Buffalo Sabres to a 2-1 win over Montreal.

Vanek scored the first two goals of the game in the second period.

He tallied his 15th of the season deflecting a Christian Ehrhoff point shot past Carey Price during a 5-on-3 power play. His 16th of the year came with 38.3 seconds left in the frame.

The Habs were able to beat Ryan Miller 8:17 into the third period when Michael Ryder got a piece of an Andrei Markov shot on the power play.

Miller's steady night helped the Sabres to their third consecutive win.

Buffalo next visits Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
