BUFFALO, NY - (WKBW) Nathan Gerbe's goal and Ryan Miller's perfect shootout helped the Sabres to a 3-2 shootout win over the New Jersey Devils on Sunday night.

Patrick Kaleta opened the scoring in the first period. Kaleta tipped a Jochen Hecht shot past Martin Brodeur. It was Kaleta's first goal and point of the season.

Steve Sullivan tied things with a power play goal before the first was done.

Steve Ott tallied the only goal of the second period, scoring for the third straight game.

New Jersey was able to even the game 5:46 into the third period with a shorthanded goal by Mark Fayne. It was the seventh shorty allowed by the Sabres this season.

Gerbe was able to score in the shootout for Buffalo, beating Brodeur in the second round. Miller stopped all three Devils shooters to clinch the Sabres third consecutive win.

Miller also made 37 saves in the game.

The Sabres next visit Winnipeg on Tuesday.
