SUNRISE, FL - (WKBW) Steve Ott's third period goal was the difference Friday night as the Buffalo Sabres beat the Florida Panthers 3-1. It was the Sabres first regulation victory of the season.

Jesse Winchester scored the lone goal of the first period to give the home team a 1-0 lead.

Rookie Rasmus Ristolainen scored his first NHL goal to tie the game in the second period. It was the first-round draft pick's first NHL point as well.

Steve Ott deflected home a Christian Ehrhoff slapshot in the third period to give the Sabres the lead. Cody Hodgson added the empty-netter.

Jhonas Enroth tied a career-high with 44 saves on the night. Buffalo was outshot 45-20.

Buffalo defenseman Mike Weber left the game in the second period with an upper-body injury.

The Sabres next visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
