A single-day ticket sale record has been broken after the Buffalo Sabres announced that over 30,000 tickets were sold on Sunday.
31,213 tickets were sold for the 2012-13 season Sunday during a 24-hour presale period for current season ticket and mini-pack holders.
“With the uncertainty surrounding the schedule and the timing of the start of hockey, we didn’t know what to expect,” said Buffalo Sabres President Ted Black. “However, Sunday’s ticket sales took us by surprise and, frankly, blew us away.”
The Sabres season ticket renewal rate reached 99% for the 2012-13 season. The number of season tickets was capped at 15,400 with more than 3,000 people on a waiting list. This is the second straight season the club reached a 99% renewal rate for season tickets.
For the rest, individual game tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Jan. 15 at 10 a.m.
Tickets can be purchased at Sabres.com and Tickets.com, by telephone at 1-888-223-6000, or at the First Niagara Center box office.
