ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI - (WKBW) The Buffalo Sabres lost to the Saint Louis Blues on Thursday 2-1.

Maxim Lapierre scored for the Blues in the second period.

Brendan Morrow made it 2-0 late in the third. The Sabres' Cody Hodgson tallied the only Buffalo goal, on the power play, before the final buzzer.

Former Sabres goalie Ryan Miller did not play. He backed up Brian Elliot.

Former Sabres captain Steve Ott had one shot on the night.

The Sabres travel to Detroit on Friday to play the Red Wings.
