BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Sabres owner Terry Pegula has announced that both General Manager Darcy Regier and Head Coach Ron Rolston have been released from the team.

Pat LaFontaine will take over as the new President of Hockey Operations and former head coach Ted Nolan will become interim head coach.

LaFontaine is no stranger to the Buffalo Sabres. He played six seasons with the Sabres between 1991 and 1997 and was most recently a consultant with the New York Islanders.

Nolan was a coach here in Buffalo from 1995 to 1997.
