Report: Dareus to Miss First Several Practices

July 21, 2014 Updated Jul 21, 2014 at 9:59 AM EDT

Pittsford (WKBW.com) Marcell Dareus missed the first practice of training camp and it may be some time before he gets back on the field.

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reports that the defensive tackle is scheduled to arrive at Bills camp on Monday but will not practice and will not re-take conditioning test until at least Thursday.

Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone revealed on Sunday that Dareus failed his conditioning test when he reported to camp but remained confident he would be available soon. "He’ll be in shape ready to play.", said Marrone on Sunday. "I just think right now he needs to focus on getting himself ready, getting in shape, getting on the field and focusing on football.", Marrone continued.

Dareus was arrested in Alabama on felony drug charges on May 5th.
He was also arrested on May 30th in Hamburg and faces charges for taking part in an alleged street race.
