BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Sabres owner Terry Pegula announced Saturday that he has signed team General Manager Darcy Regier to a contract extension. Terms of the deal were not given. It is not believed that Regier's previous contract was nearing its end.
Regier was hired in 1997. He has been the architect of four Sabres teams that advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals and one Stanley Cup Final. However, the Sabres have missed the postseason in three of the past five years.
