No Hall Call for Reed

February 2, 2013 Updated Feb 2, 2013 at 8:09 PM EDT

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WKBW) - Another year, another disappointment for Andre Reed. The former Bills wide receiver was not selected for enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The 2013 class was announced on Saturday. It includes Coach Bill Parcells, Warren Sapp, Cris Carter, Jonathan Ogden and Larry Allen. Curley Culp and Dave Robinson were elected as senior members.

Reed, among the 15 modern-era finalists for a seventh consecutive year, survived the first reduction vote from 15 to 10 for a fourth straight year. However, he was once again left on Canton's doorstep.

The fact that former Vikings receiver Cris Carter was elected should help Reed's cause in 2014.

Reed played for the Bills from 1985-1999. He was a seven-time pro bowler. He retired ranked third in all-time NFL catches with 951, and fourth in yards with 13,198. He also had 87 touchdowns.
